The Udinese injury list just keeps getting longer, as the club announced that defender Jaka Bijol underwent surgery to reduce a stress fracture in his foot.

The 24-year-old Slovenia international is expected to be out of action for circa two months.

The Friulani are beset by fitness problems and many of the injuries require a long time on the treatment table.

Enzo Ebosse ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and is out until April 2024, Gerard Deulofeu had knee surgery after a previous ligament tear took longer than expected to be resolved.

Centre-forwards Brenner (thigh strain), Keinan Davis (calf strain) and Vivaldo Semedo (muscle strain) are all out until the New Year too.

There were problems off the field too, as Udinese sacked coach Andrea Sottil and brought back Gabriele Cioffi.

They sit in 16th place in the Serie A table with just 12 points from 14 games and their only victory of the season was away to Milan.
