Udinese were left disappointed at the Dacia Arena tonight after failing to edge out an advantage in their 1-1 draw with Lecce.

The Bianconeri started the season incredibly well under coach Andrea Sottil but the team started to fall off last month, starting with a 2-2 draw with Atalanta on October 9. Since then, Udinese have failed to win their last three outings and were desperate to return to winning ways against the struggling Lecce, who are hovering just above the relegation zone.

With key figures like Gerard Deulofeu, Beto and Nehuén Pérez on the pitch, Udinese were ready to fight for all three points but it was Lecce who took the lead after 33 minutes thanks to Milan loanee Lorenzo Colombo, who did well to control a whipped cross and find the back of the net from less than 10 yards out.

Udinese were not willing to go down without a fight and pushed hard for an equaliser, eventually finding one in the 68th minute after Beto guided home a bullet pass from Isaac Success to make it 1-1.

Despite the home side having the lion’s share of the ball, they failed to translate this control into an advantage, allowing Lecce to scarper home with a point after a tiring outing in Udine.
