Udinese lost another pre-season friendly, falling 1-0 to recently-relegated SPAL thanks to a Lorenzo Dickmann goal.

Luca Gotti’s Friulani have struggled so far this summer and may well be glad their Serie A campaign doesn’t kick off until next weekend.

That is because their Week 1 opponents Spezia must start late, as their 2019-20 campaign ended later due to the Serie B promotion play-offs.

Udinese already lost a friendly against Venezia and fell to SPAL as well, although there were some improvements in the opening 20 minutes.

Stefano Okaka was denied by a good save, but Samir and Sebastien De Maio were caught out by a long ball and Dickmann’s scuffed finish ended up looping over Juan Musso.

Mattia Valoti almost made it 2-0 for SPAL, his powerful strike smacking against the crossbar.

Etrit Berisha was again tested in the second half by Fernando Forestieri and De Maio, but Marko Jankovic fired a good opportunity just wide for SPAL.
