UEFA carried out the Champions League Round of 16 draw today, confirming which teams Milan, Inter and Napoli will face in the first round of the knock-out stages.

The Partenopei finished top of Group A, ahead of second place Liverpool on goal difference, having looked impressive in all of their outings. Inter ended up second in Group C, eight points behind winners Bayern Munich, with their two results against Barcelona proving crucial. Milan came out second in Group E, shaking off losses to Chelsea with wins over Dinamo Zagreb and RB Salzburg.

The first of the Serie A teams drawn were Milan, who were called to face Antonio Conte’s Tottenham. The North London outfit topped Group D but left it late in their final match against Olympique Marseille.

Next up were Napoli, who were drawn against German side Eintracht Frankfurt. The Bundesliga outfit finished second in Group D, beating Sporting 2-1 in the final game to book their spot in the knock-out stages.

Finally Inter were drawn against Portuguese side Porto, who finished top of a group containing Club Brugge, Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid.

  1. Spurs isn’t an easy draw for Milan.. they have about 150m sat on the bench at any one time and Conte always goes the extra mile against milan.

  2. Unusual easy draw forvitalian teams!
Won’t say Porto are “easy” opponents, but i’d pick them any day over Real or Man city! And about Milan i’d say they have a good chance as Conte’s teams always underperform in Europe!

  3. Good to see the big sides knock each other out, if all three Italians sides make the next round they have a chance, you could even get two Italian sides play each other and guarantee a semi-final and if they are lucky they could win that once the big side are out.
