Good evening and welcome to the Football Italia Liveblog for coverage of tonight’s Champions League round of 16 second leg between Inter and Feyenoord in San Siro.

The Nerazzurri already have one foot in the quarter-finals with a 2-0 win at De Kuip last week, so Simone Inzaghi’s side can afford to lose by one goal and still qualify.

Inter have proved a difficult side to break down in Europe this term, and are the only side remaining in the competition to have conceded just one goal since the tournament kicked off in September.

The winner of tonight’s tie will go on to face either Bayern Munich or Bayer Leverkusen in the quarter-final.

Kick-off is due at 20.00 GMT.

Inzaghi: Inter 'in the mix in all competitions'

“It’s true that numbers are not the same in the league and Champions League, but we’ve conceded less and scored fewer goals. We’re in the mix in all competitions, and I am happy about that, happy to be at Inter in a magical atmosphere like tonight’s.”

Inzaghi provides Inter injury update

“I won’t recover anyone for Atalanta. Frattesi was fatigued, but he played a great game. De Vrij should have played as a starter, but had a little problem yesterday. He seemed to be doing better, but he didn’t deel up to it and the doctors preferred to keep him rested, we hope to have him in Bergamo.”

More from Inzaghi

“I’m a coach who is proud of his team. We have had a lot of difficult moments recently, but this is a team with a capital T. We know that there will be a very important few months coming up, we know what it means to play every 72 hours, but we will play with enthusiasm.”

Speaking during his post-match press conference: “I’m very happy, getting into the quarters is extraordinary. I feel a few compliments should be given to this team, and I will give them publicly tonight.

“The support of our fans is enough for us, but I would like to hear even more, this team is doing great things, which are often taken for granted. Nothing should be taken for granted in football.”

Thuram quotes

Speaking to Inter TV after full-time: “We’re very happy to have won tonight and to go through, now we’ll take on Bayern. Bayern are one of the best teams in Europe, they’re in great shape and it will be a good game.”

Asked about his celebration with Lautaro Martinez, who was left out of the line-up tonight, he added: “He’s a special friend. I wanted to give him a hug after the goal.”

Van Persie calls Inter's penalty 'dubious'

Asked if he believed the comeback was on after Feyenoord’s equaliser, van Persie replied: “Yes, and the players, too. It’s great when you manage to equalise, even if we should have scored two goals afterwards.

“It was a shame to concede a goal immediately after half-time, it’s a dubious penalty that was perhaps given a bit too easily.”

Speaking during his post-match press conference: “The players worked a lot and defended well, with a high and low block. Some moments should have gone better, but we played against a very strong team and when they start pressing, it’s really difficult.

“It’s never nice to concede so early, we also felt the support of our fans throughout the game. The boys did everything they could and I can’t ask for more than that.”

Dumfries's post-match analysis

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after full-time: “A great game, a great evening for us. I’m happy to go to the quarter-finals against Bayern who are a great team.

“I feel good, I want to carry on like this. I’m happy because I’m playing a lot and playing well.

“We’re a strong team, everyone wants to beat us. We play with a lot of concentration, and we have to keep that up.”
