Milan striker Pietro Pellegri is among the players added to the Italy Under-21 squad, while Udinese’s Destiny Udogie pulls out.

The Azzurrini will face the Republic of Ireland in a European Under-21 Championship qualifier in Dublin on Friday at 16.30 GMT.

They then take on Romania at the Stadio Stirpe in Frosinone on Tuesday at 16.30 GMT for a friendly.

Udinese defender Udogie left the training ground due to a muscular issue.

Coach Paolo Nicolato has called up Milan striker Pellegri, on loan from AS Monaco, Crotone’s Simone Canestrelli and Alessandro Cortinovis from Reggina.

However, they will only join the group from Saturday morning, after the game in Dublin.
