All today’s tests for the Italy Under-21 squad came back negative for COVID-19 after the Iceland game was postponed, but the Republic of Ireland kick-off changes.

The Azzurrini were stopped on their flight to Iceland by the local authorities after a series of positive COVID-19 tests between players and staff.

As a result, the European Under-21 Championship qualifier had to be postponed.

The squad returned to Tirrenia today and another round of swabs came back negative, so the outbreak has so far not spread any further.

Meanwhile, Italy’s European Championship qualifier against group leaders the Republic of Ireland has seen the kick-off time changed.

It now begins at 16.00 UK time (15.00 GMT) rather than 16.30 UK time at the Stadio Anconetani in Pisa.
