Gerardo Martino has announced his Mexico squad for the fast-approaching World Cup in Qatar, including two players from Serie A.

The final round of games before the World Cup break has now been played, meaning the league will take a six-week break and return on January 4. The pause gives some teams the time to recover their injured stars and do a little extra work on the training ground, whilst others will be closely monitoring the condition of their players competing in Qatar.

Martino announced his 26-man Mexico squad for the World Cup in Qatar, including Napoli forward Hirving Lozano and Cremonese defender Johan Vasquez, who joined the newly promoted side on loan from Genoa in the summer.

The 27-year-old Lozano has years of experience with the Mexican national team, making 59 caps and scoring 16 goals since his debut in February 2016. He started in all four of their games at the 2018 World Cup, netting the winner against Germany in the first group game.
