Napoli have announced that their defenders Axel Tuanzebe and Kevin Malcuit didn’t train with the rest of the team at Castel Volturno today.

“Napoli are working hard at the SSC Napoli Konami Training Centre ahead of their away clash against Verona which kicks off at 15:00 CET this Sunday, in what will be Serie A Matchday 29,” a club statement read.

“The squad started off with rondos and tactical work before moving on to small-sided games. Axel Tuanzebe followed a custom schedule while Kevin Malcuit spent the morning in the gym.”

Tuanzebe joined the Partenopei on loan from Manchester United in the January transfer window but has been struggling with injuries at the Stadio Maradona, managing just two appearances so far. Malcuit, 30, has played 11 games across all competitions and is far from being a regular starter.

Both players are likely to miss Napoli’s next Serie A clash against Hellas Verona on Sunday.
