According to reports on Monday, Milan have two particular players they would like to reward with new and improved contracts at the end of the 2023-24 season: Captain Davide Calabria and midfielder Yacine Adli.

The Rossoneri have a handful of players whose contract are set to expire at the end of the current campaign, including veteran goalkeeper Antonio Mirante and the lesser-seen Mattia Caldara, but Calabria and Adli, whose deals are up in 2025 and 2026 respectively, are the current priorities according to Calciomercato.com

According to Monday’s reports, Milan directors Giorgio Furlani and Goeffrey Moncada will soon make contact with Calabria’s representatives to discuss the possibility of a renewal.

Calabria currently takes home an annual salary of around €2m, which is likely to be increased slightly with the offer of a new contract.

It is a similar situation for Adli, who has enjoyed a much-improved 2023-24 season.

The 23-year-old Frenchman is reportedly seen as an important part of the medium-term Rossoneri future and his love for the club and connection with its supporters has only increased his importance to Stefano Pioli.

He, too, could be handed a salary increase if he accepts a new deal. Calciomercato report that Adli currently earns a wage of around €800,000 per season.
