Two key dates in legal battles approach for Juventus

Whilst Massimiliano Allegri and the players focus on the pitch, Juventus’ management are preparing for two important dates in their various legal battles.

Corriere dello Sport details how the Bianconeri will first take the next steps in their capital gains dispute with the FIGC. Back in January, the club were docked 15 points by the Italian FA for inflating player transfer values to falsify capital gains, but last month CONI’s Collegio di Garanzia decided to annul this penalty pending a new trial.

On May 22, Juventus will face the FIGC Court of Appeal, which’ll have to revaluate the case after the Collegio di Garanzia’s decision. A new penalty could be handed to the club and the court will be chaired by Ida Raiola – no relation to the super-agent.

Regarding the secret player wage payments, FIGC prosecutor Giuseppe Chiné will not present the possible charges by tomorrow as planned, having asked for a postponement for technical issues, so they will instead be made clear on May 27, after the capital gains case has been decided.

Should the verdict be punishing in the capital gains case, Chiné may be open to setting up a plea bargain with Juventus, but should it be considered ‘light’ then greater penalties could be pushed for.
