Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri kept Luis Alberto on the bench for the whole game against FC Twente on Saturday night due to muscle fatigue.

Reports emerged regarding possible disciplinary actions made by Sarri in the 1-0 win over Twente, as Lazio played the whole game without introducing the Spanish midfielder.

Ciro Immobile scored the only goal in the match after three minutes and helped Sarri’s men secure a positive result against their Dutch opponents.

Luis Alberto was fined earlier this summer, as he delayed his return from holiday and appeared to be pushing for a move away.

He was, however, expected to enter during the game, but Sarri decided to keep him on the bench and Tuttomercatoweb reports there was no disciplinary measure involved in the decision.

The player, in fact, was at risk due to muscle fatigue and Sarri chose to avoid causing a setback for the midfielder.
