Roma manager José Mourinho would be interested in Juventus including Arthur in any deal to sign Nicolò Zaniolo, according to reports in Italy.

Zaniolo stayed silent as he arrived and left Roma’s Trigoria training centre on Tuesday, refusing to respond as fans called on him to stay.

Recent reports have suggested a series of meetings to push through the deal have been set up this week but there is still a distance in terms of the fee.

However, Tuttosport report Roma could ask for Arthur as part of the deal, which would lower the overall cash Juve would have to part with for Zaniolo.

The report suggests Mourinho is intrigued by the effect a link up between recent arrival Nemanja Matić and Arthur.

According to recent reports, Roma want €60 million for Zaniolo and Juve will likely need to include a player as part exchange in order to meet the Giallorossi’s asking price.

Arthur is far from untouchable, the report adds, as he is unlikely to nail down a starting place under manager Massimiliano Allegri.

  1. Arthur is in a no win scenario here. He has lots of experience in the ancient Latin manuscripts authored b PhD Max. But he is at a beginner level in the back, back, down, down. With Mou, he might get more playing time, but he will need to read the highway code for buses.
