The 2019-20 Super Lig was not suspended until March 12, more than a week after Serie A, but the mortality rate for coronavirus in Turkey is relatively low, with 3,520 deaths compared to almost 30,000 recorded in Italy.
According to the plans of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), the season will restart on June 12 and end on July 26.

According to the plans of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), the season will restart on June 12 and end on July 26.
“During the epidemic, we always thought about the safety of Turkish football. We did our best not to hurt our clubs,” said TFF chief Nihat Ozdemir.
“We’ve talked to our Minister for Youth and Sports, Mehmet Kasapoglu, on a regular basis.
“We’ve talked to the lower league clubs, the Super Lig clubs, UEFA and FIFA. We’re aiming to complete the season with the support of all the institutions in our country.
“We have a plan, which isn’t enough on its own. For this reason, we’ll act on the decisions of our Scientific Committee and the Ministry for Health and Science. Health is our priority.”
Ozdemir also announced the Champions League Final would still be held in Istanbul as UEFA hopes for an August conclusion to its club competitions.
Trabzonspor and Istanbul Basaksehir are level on points at the top of the Super Lig, with eight rounds of fixrures remaining.
