Hellas Verona coach Igor Tudor revealed he ‘would be happy’ if Zlatan Ibrahimovic doesn’t play on Saturday and praised Milan coach Stefano Pioli.

The Gialloblu arrive at San Siro in a confident mood, as Tudor has turned things around at the club.

Verona have picked up two wins and two draws in four games and are aiming to battle Milan for the points this weekend too.

“We want to improve and do well at San Siro,” Tudor said at a press conference. “We worked well with those who remained during the break.

“The target is to progress, it’s up each of us to try to improve. The important thing is to avoid making mistakes and not neglect anything.”

Tudor gives Pioli the credit for the growth of Milan in recent years and expects a complicated match in the fashion capital.

“If Milan are this, the credit must be given to the coach,” Tudor continued. “I have always liked Pioli, on the pitch and his way of doing things.

“We have great motivation; we want to go the temple that is San Siro with respect but also with a desire to do well.”

Pioli said he will evaluate Ibrahimovic tomorrow and Tudor revealed he fears the Sweden international.

“If he doesn’t play, I’m happy,” Tudor added. “I still consider him one of the best and he’s an important player for Milan.

“We’ve thought of different solutions, both with him starting and if he enters during the game.”

Miguel Veloso returns for the Gialloblu and Tudor is happy to have the Portuguese midfielder available.

“Miguel is an important player,” he said. “I’m happy he’s back. You can feel his presence in training.

“He has done great things here over the recent years, he’s an absolute leader.”
