Hellas Verona coach Igor Tudor looks forward to ‘another battle and another important match’ against Genoa on Saturday.

Tudor replaced Eusebio Di Francesco at the helm and has won one and drawn one since taking over at the Gialloblu.

But he expects a tough game against Davide Ballardini’s men in Genoa this weekend.

“There’s another battle to be fought,” Tudor said at a press conference. “Another important match, against a strong team like Genoa.

“We are happy with these two games, let’s finish this cycle in the best possible way. I think the lads will be ready.”

Hellas Verona picked up a surprising win against Roma and followed up with a draw against Salernitana during the week.

Tudor hopes to continue with further points against Genoa, in his second consecutive away game in Serie A with Verona.

“I’m sure we will play a good game,” Tudor continued. “Genoa have experienced players and will have the advantage of being at home.

“In the last league game, they picked up a point away from home, demonstrating their qualities. I expect a Verona that give their best and try to make as few mistakes as possible.”

Verona have climbed to 15th with the four points claimed under Tudor, tied on points with Ballardini’s Genoa after five games.

Genoa are looking for their first home win in 2021-22, while Verona are still searching for their first three-pointer away.
