Benjamin Pavard is not available for Bayern Munich for their game against Augsburg, but Thomas Tuchel warned that the French defender won’t join Inter unless the Bavarians buy a replacement.

Pavard is pushing to join the Nerazzurri and has been dropped for Sunday’s Bundesliga clash between Bayern Munich and Augsburg at the Allianz Arena.

Tuchel spoke to DAZN De before kick-off confirming that the 2018 France World Cup winner wants to leave.

“He has some problems so he’s not with the squad. We understand Benji wants to join Inter but to complete a transfer, there’s not only one way to consider,” he said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“We need to find a replacement or it won’t happen.”

Pavard is under contract with Bayern Munich until June 2024 and Inter are ready to invest €28m plus €5m add-ons to secure his signature.

They had to change their transfer plans after selling André Onana to Manchester United. The Nerazzurri initially wanted to invest €40m in Romelu Lukaku but when the Belgian refused to return to the Stadio Meazza, they paid €10m for Marko Arnautovic so they could afford circa €30m for Pavard now.
