Mohamed Ihattaren has returned to Turin and resumed training with Juventus following his recent legal issues.
The 21-year-old Dutch forward was arrested and interrogated by police in the Netherlands last week for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, being released shortly after.
Once one of the most talented emerging youngsters in Europe, off-pitch issues have severely derailed Ihattaren’s development and left him without regular first team football for the last two seasons.
Ihattaren shared a video on his Instagram page today, confirming his return to Turin and training with Juventus. Accompanying the video was the caption: “What defines us is how well we rise after a setback.”
The Dutch forward joined Juventus in August 2021 from PSV in a deal worth around €1.9m. He was immediately loaned out to Sampdoria, but failed to settle in the city and left after just six months, failing to make a single appearance.
Ihattaren then returned to his native country, joining Ajax on a 12-month loan deal, but he again failed to make a good impression and only made a single competitive appearance for the Amsterdam outfit before leaving at the end of last year.
