Lazio defender Stefan De Vrij’s injury is not as serious as first feared but the club must also deal with problems to Marco Parolo and Diego Novaretti.

The Biancoceleste had feared that Dutch international De Vrij may have sustained ligament damage during their 4-0 win over Empoli on Sunday, but his knee damage is minor.

The 23-year-old centre back is estimated to be out for two weeks with a sprained knee, which means he will miss the top-of-the-table clash against Juventus this weekend.

Parolo will also be missing having fractured a rib in the same match, an injury that will see the midfielder sidelined for at least 20 days.

Defender Novaretti was the third casualty of the match, as he struck a sheet of protective glass in frustration after being sent off, fracturing his finger in the process.

The Argentine defender will still be capable of training, but misses out on Sunday’s clash in any case due to his suspension for receiving the red card.
