Born in Italy and moving to the Netherlands as a child, Mino went from translator to the most powerful agent in the sport.

Clubs and clients: football world mourns the death of Mino Raiola

“With Mino’s death, gone is the era of the real agents who’d kill themselves for their players. He battled against everyone,” Pablo Bentancur told Tuttomercatoweb.

Bentancur is the representative of amongst others Fiorentina star Lucas Torreira and Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez.

“Mino achieved his targets, even at the cost of his own health. He had grit, the desire to work hard and never stop. He broke the mould on wages and the cost of transfers, there will never be another like him. The King is dead. I am very sad.”

The agency will continue to be run by Raiola’s family, including his cousin Vincenzo, who posted a touching tribute on Instagram.

“This was my Mood for years, listening to you with admiration. You were always light years ahead and will remain beyond reach, I will try to do my best to at least be honest, precise, likeable, smart and a hard worker like you.

“Thank you Mino, my eyes will now gaze at you up there.”

There were reports that Mino Raiola’s net worth in 2022 was in the region of €90m, remarkable for a self-made man who started from so little.
