Juventus legend David Trezeguet reveals where Federico Chiesa needs to improve and suggests Harry Kane should leave Tottenham: ‘People will remember your trophies.’

Chiesa scored the winner in Juventus’ 1-0 win over Chelsea on Wednesday. The Italian winger has played a key role in the Bianconeri’s victories so far this season, having already scored two goals in six appearances across all competitions.

“Federico doesn’t think much, but he works a lot, he has superb dribbling skills and is the most decisive Juventus player,” Trezeguet told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“He’s different from the others and Juve need him a lot. With him or without him, everything changes, Juventus become another team.”

After the first few games of the season, Allegri claimed Chiesa still needed to understand what it means to stay at Juventus.

During his post-match press conference following the game against Chelsea, the coach said the former Fiorentina star could become a striker in the future.

“Not a classic centre forward, that’s for sure,” said Trezeguet.

“He loves spaces, he likes to start wide, he will never be a player like Osimhen. For me, he is a winger or a support striker.

“Federico is having fun, even when he makes mistakes, he seems to have fun. He must learn how to manage himself during the game, move on the pitch and understand what his teammates do. He’ll get there.”

But who is the best centre forward in the world, according to Trezeguet?

“I think [Robert] Lewandowski. He has everything. He is quick when it counts, he can shoot with both feet and world-class ball control.

“Haaland is the prototype of the centre forward during the next decade. He is tall, he scores, he is self-critical. Unique.”

How about Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku?

“Kane is a top striker, but I think that sometimes you need to take a step forward to win. For him, it’s now. Until now, he’s won almost nothing and in the end, people will remember the trophies you’ve won.

“Lukaku has proved to be competitive, but the world changes without Conte. Chelsea’s playing style is not as direct. I think he is a strong No.9, but he needs support from the team.”

Trezeguet, 43, joined Juventus from Monaco in 2000, only a few weeks after scoring the Golden Goal in the UEFA Euro 2000 Final against Italy.

He won the Euros and the 1998 World Cup with France but was the only player to miss his spot-kick in the penalty kick shootout of the 2006 World Cup Final won by the Azzurri.

Trezeguet is the most prolific foreign player in the history of Juventus, with 171 goals in 320 games.
