Via the AIC (Italian Players Association), the Trapani squad released a statement confirming the club “repeatedly failed to maintain promises regarding payments.
“The apex was reached on Friday May 31, the deadline to pay salaries for March and April 2019, when we were sadly able to verify that only a small group of the players had received their wages for March, while everyone was unpaid for April.”
The players are taking legal action against Trapani, but pledged to give their all on the pitch in these promotion play-offs.
“We owe it to ourselves, our families, our marvellous fans and an entire city! This is our fairy-tale, let us all write a happy ending TOGETHER.”
