Serie B side Trapani have released a statement saying they are ‘astonished’ to be implicated in a match-fixing scandal.
The Granata’s 4-1 defeat to Catania is one of the matches under suspicion in the ‘Goal Trains’ scandal, which broke this morning.
“We learned with astonishment about the investigation carried out by the Catania prosecutors, which also involves some of our members,” Trapani said in a statement.

Arrest warrants were issued for several Catania officials this morning, with at least five of their games last season under suspicion.
