Giovanni Trapattoni says Juventus ‘still have the ability to fight for the Scudetto’ despite a poor start.

The legendary Coach won six Scudetti and the European Cup in his time with the Bianconeri, and believes they can still bounce back from a poor start to the season.

“They’re preparing in a new way,” Trapattoni explained, speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“Players have left, and they don’t have players with the same characteristics. The club has patience, and Juve still have the ability in the squad to fight for the Scudetto.

“The Italian League is long and difficult.”

Il Trap also gave his assessment of Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri, with the Partenopei winless after three games.

“Maurizio has shown his qualities as a Coach, but of course Napoli is a difficult environment, one accustomed to success.

“I wouldn’t blame the Coach, I’ve seen too many mistakes on the part of the players, they haven’t yet absorbed Sarri’s methods.

“It will take patience from the club and the fans, but Napoli can return to the right path. Sarri is a Coach for a project, and before undertaking a project you have get to know the players, it takes time.

“Even knowing the potential of the team, no-one can perform miracles. I had problems too in conveying new ideas when I was abroad, it takes time for the players.”
