Former Juventus Coach Giovanni Trapattoni has urged the club to sign Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze, while also reflecting on Inter’s rebuilding.

The 76-year-old, who won six Scudetti with the Old Lady between 1976 and 1986, believes Gotze can offer a lot, but warns of the transition to the tactical Serie A.

“I’d sign him because he does everything – he’s a number 10 and wide attacker who can cut inside and score goals,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“But let’s remember that he’s not in a tactically difficult league like Serie A. We are strategists in our history and mentality.”

Trap also reflected on Inter’ transfer saga to sign Geoffrey Kondogbia and who he sees as favourites to win next season’s league title.

“It’s good that Mancini has found a President who wants to spend money, even though he appears to have asked for immediate results,” he said.

“With Kondogbia the problem was that too much was out in the open.

“At Juve, but also at the Inter of Pellegrini, we didn’t give names to the newspapers, and that is how we signed Brehme. Otherwise public pressure forces you to spend.

“Inter and Milan are rebuilding, Lazio, Roma and Napoli are already strong, but Juve have the advantage, also because of the atmosphere there.”
