Giovanni Trapattoni believes Inter are ‘on the right path’, but Juventus are still Scudetto favourites.
The former Nerazzurri Coach is currently unemployed after leaving his last job with the Republic of Ireland, and gave his thoughts on the upcoming campaign.
“[Inter’s] path is the right one,” Trapattoni told FCInterNews.
“[Coach Roberto] Mancini is extremely knowledgeable and has international experience. It’s not easy for the team to settle with so many new buys, but I’m sure Inter will do it well.

“You need time for players to settle in, and get used to the instructions from the Coach. The squad is already good, they just have to work on conviction.
“Inter have international players, I don’t see why they’d be behind the others. I think all this group is lacking is a ‘jump’, a little confidence-booster.
“The Scudetto? The others are strengthening, but Juventus are still in pole position. Milan and Inter are right behind, though Roma, Napoli and Lazio are good teams and can compete.”
Trap was also asked about Inter’s transfer targets, with Stevan Jovetic, Ivan Perisic and Mohamed Salah thought to be on the radar.
“It really depends on Mancini’s intentions. I really like Jovetic, he’s capable of anything and is a really complete player.
“I know Salah very well, he’d be a great option. I’ve followed him since his time at Basel, and I must say he’d be a big coup, but I think all three options are equally valuable.”
