Inter are in advanced talks to sign Kristjan Asllani from Empoli and the Nerazzurri are expected to finalise the deal today.

The 20-year-old scored one goal in 23 Serie A appearances last term and has emerged as Inter’s priority target to become Marcelo Brozovic’s backup in 2022-23.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Calciomercato.com, Inter and Empoli directors will hold a decisive meeting today. The two clubs have an agreement in principle over the player’s transfer fee but must find the right formula for the deal.

The Tuscans are pushing for a permanent sale, while Inter want a loan move with an option or obligation to buy, linked to the player’s and club’s objectives. The transfer fee is believed to be between €12m and €15m.

Inter are open to sending one of their starlets on loan as part of the deal and Martin Satriano is the player that Empoli want to include in the negotiations. Andrea Pinamonti had joined the Tuscans on a temporary deal from Inter last season and had his best season in Serie A, thanks to his 13 goals in 36 appearances.
