Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli feels new signing Carlos Alcaraz can deliver performances for a long time, so the Argentinean is expected to stay beyond the end of the season despite a hefty €49.m option to buy, says Matteo Moretto.

Alcaraz landed in Turin on Thursday evening to start a new chapter of his career at Juventus. He joined the Bianconeri on an initial loan deal with an option to buy from Southampton but the fee to sign him permanently is quite big for Juve as they are required to pay €49.5m in June to keep the 21-year-old in Turin.

However, there doesn’t seem to be doubts about Alcaraz’s long-term future at the Allianz Stadium as transfer expert Matteo Moretto has told Caught Offside that the Bianconeri director Giuntoli believes the Argentinean midfielder can ‘deliver performances for a long time’ for the Old Lady.

This is why Juventus are expected to sign Alcaraz permanently at the end of the current campaign.

“All being well, he will stay there beyond the end of the season,” said Moretto.

Alcaraz was Juventus’ January signing after Tiago Djalo who moved to Turin on a permanent transfer from Lille.
