Italian transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà claims Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has agreed on a €6m-a-year deal with Juventus and would only sign a contract extension with Lazio if it comes with a release clause worth €40-50m.

The Serbia international is one of the hottest commodities in Serie A and his contract at the Stadio Olimpico runs out in June 2024.

The Biancocelesti hope to extend his stay at the club, but SMS’s scintillating performances have attracted interest from many top clubs in Italy and Europe, including Juventus.

As per Alfredo Pedullà, the Bianconeri and Milinkovic-Savic have already reached a principle of agreement for next season when the 27-year-old would sign a €6m-a-year contract plus add-ons.

It remains to be seen if Lazio and Juventus will reach an agreement considering that president Claudio Lotito values his midfield star at more than €100m.

According to the report, SMS is open to signing a new deal with Lazio, but only as a ‘sign of gratitude’ given that he expects the Biancocelesti to include a release clause of circa €40-50m in the new agreement.

Milinkovic-Savic has scored six goals and delivered eight assists in 25 games with Lazio this season and is part of the Serbian squad in Qatar.

  1. Big mistake. Are you going to play him and Pogba in the same midfield? They don’t need him.
