Inter still haven’t agreed a new deal with Lautaro Martinez but the club are ‘convinced’ that the star striker will pen a new contract, transfer expert Matteo Moretto notes.

The 26-year-old Argentinian striker is leading the charge for their second Scudetto star this term, scoring 18 goals and providing four assists across his 18 league appearances, being the clear talismanic figure in Simone Inzaghi’s squad.

Lautaro’s current contract with Inter expires in June 2026 and the club have absolutely no intention of losing their captain, so talks with his entourage regarding a new deal have been ongoing for a little while now.

Italian transfer expert Matteo Moretto told Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing that Inter are feeling extremely optimistic regarding the contract negotiations with Lautaro, ‘convinced’ that he’ll pen a new deal with the club in the near future.

The 26-year-old striker wants to stay with the Nerazzurri too, so it would take something significant to change things as they stand.

Lautaro has grown into one of the best strikers in European football at Inter, scoring 123 goals in 265 games for the club.
