According to Tuttosport newspaper, Lille and Canada striker Jonathan David will be a primary target for Milan and Inter next summer but the two Milanese giants have different strategies to sign the Canada international.

The Rossoneri and the Nerazzurri meet at San Siro after the international break for the first derby of the season. As reported by Thursday’s printed edition of Tuttosport (page 14), they are expected to face off in the transfer market too next summer, with David emerging as a top target for both sides.

The 23-year-old has already scored three goals in six appearances across all competitions this season and according to the Italian sports paper, Lille value their striker at €60-70m.

Tuttospot explains that Milan and Lille directors are on good terms, as proved by recent negotiations concerning Rafael Leao’s fine to be paid to Sporting CP. Milan also signed Mike Maignan from Lille in 2021, but Elliott Management ran the Serie A giants then.

Inter, on the other hand, already know they must sell one of their stars to purchase the Canadian striker due to Suning’s financial struggles.

David’s contract with Lille runs out in June 2025 and Tuttosport believes he will be one of the common targets of both Milan and Inter during the next summer transfer campaign.
