Roma have locked the team into a training retreat after their incredible 2-2 draw with nine-man Cagliari.

The decision was announced by Roma Radio this morning and starts from now, leading up to Wednesday’s Champions League match against Viktoria Plzen.

That game is irrelevant, because the Giallorossi are already sure of a place in the Round of 16 as runners-up in the group behind Real Madrid.

That game is irrelevant, because the Giallorossi are already sure of a place in the Round of 16 as runners-up in the group behind Real Madrid.

This is seen more as a punitive measure following a run of poor results, culminating in Saturday’s 2-2 draw in Sardinia.

Roma had a 2-0 lead, but after Cagliari saw two players sent off, Marco Sau still snatched a last-gasp equaliser.

There are reports Coach Eusebio Di Francesco is at risk, but the alternatives are not creating much enthusiasm within the club, specifically Paulo Sousa and Vincenzo Montella.

The dream is Antonio Conte, but his salary would be too expensive and he is currently in a legal battle with Chelsea.
