Trabzonspor coach Abdullah Avci acknowledges Roma have a 2-1 first leg lead, but trusts ‘details will make the difference’ in the UEFA Europa Conference League play-offs.

Qualification for the group stage is decided on Thursday at 18.00 UK time at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

The Giallorossi picked up a 2-1 result in Turkey, but as away goals no longer count double if the overall aggregate result is even, this is not as big of an advantage going into the second leg as it might’ve been.

“It was a balanced game, both defensively and attacking, in which we took turns to dominate the play,” coach Avci said in his press conference.

“Both teams were highly-concentrated and details made the difference for the final result. The second leg could be an advantage for Roma, but again, the details will be decisive.

“We will do all we can to the final minute of tomorrow’s match and hope it is a good evening for us.”

Over 23,000 tickets have so far been sold at the Stadio Olimpico, with the Curva Sud and Tribuna Tevere sold out.

Italian open-air arenas are only open to 50 per cent capacity right now due to COVID restrictions.
