The 33-year-old midfielder remains the primary target for Coach Roberto Mancini, but the Nerazzurri have been slow to move on the market because of their operations to sell the club to Suning.

With the new directors confirmed and set to lay out a transfer strategy together with the Coach, Toure will now be targeted more seriously.

The Citizens have no intention of letting the player go, but they have already signed Ilkay Gundogan to replace him.

Toure is therefore considering a move, spurred on by his wife Gineba, who is reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport as intensely favourable to a move to Milan.

At the moment the player's main doubt has to do with the financial aspect of a move, as he could earn up to €11m by staying just one more season in the Premier League.

Inter may be willing to offer a three-year contract worth €5m per season, but they have substantial new resources in terms of image rights in China and could provide the player with some lucrative bonuses.
