The Telegraph now reports that Toure is determined to stay in the English top-flight even if City choose to sell him.

Although this news will alert the attention of many leading clubs, the Ivory Coast international’s intention is to remain at the Citizens to work under new manager Pep Guardiola.

He will turn down Inter’s offer in order to stay put and a source close to the 33-year-old told the newspaper that he is confused by reports of problems between him and his former Barcelona mentor.

“Yaya is bemused at suggestions there is an issue with Guardiola,” the source said.

“There isn’t. Yaya has offers from other clubs but wants to stay in England.”
