Totti’s message to Pellegrini after Roma’s Conference League win

Roma legend Francesco Totti took to social media to congratulate capital Lorenzo Pellegrini after Roma had won the Conference League.

The Giallorossi won the first major European trophy in their history beating Feyenoord in the Conference League Final in Tirana last night.

Lifting the trophy was even more meaningful to Lorenzo Pellegrini, a product of Roma academy and a die-hard fan of the Giallorossi.

The Italy international shared three pictures on Instagram after the triumph in Tirana and one of those, showing him smiling while holding the cup, was commented by Totti who wrote: ‘Grande Cap’ adding heart emojis.

Totti’s message means ‘Great, captain,’ and it must be quite important for Pellegrini to receive it given that Totti was the last Roma captain to lift a trophy, the Coppa Italia in 2008 under Luciano Spalletti.

The former Italy star won the Scudetto at the Stadio Olimpico in 2001 and Pellegrini hopes to do the same in the future. “We have improved and I feel that, if we win tomorrow, we’ll be ready to win something else in the future,” the 25-year-old said on Tuesday, on the eve of the Conference League Funal.
