Francesco Totti would be happy to give his legendary Number 10 jersey to Paulo Dybala on one condition, hails Jose Mourinho and hints at a potential return to Roma in a new role.
The icon was playing at the Operazione Nostalgia game in Ferrara last night along with other former stars like Alessandro Del Piero and Diego Milito.
He spoke to reporters at the event and was asked if Dybala should inherit the Number 10 jersey at the Stadio Olimpico.
“He deserves it if he stays at Roma for another 10-20 years,” warned the World Cup winner, who spent his entire career with his beloved hometown club.
The biggest star of the current squad is on the bench, as the fans have gone wild for Mourinho, especially as he started negotiating a new contract.
“Great coach, great man, he has done so much and I hope he can continue like this,” said Totti.
Mourinho has complained that he needs someone in a directorial role who can help him keep a close eye on the youth academy and act on behalf of the club in interviews, so Totti would fit that bill. Would he like it?
“I don’t know anything about that. Who wouldn’t like being at Roma?”
