Totti, speaking to Sky Sport Italia, reminisced about his famous lobbed goal against the Nerazzurri in the 2005-06 season.

“In those moments, all sorts of things spark up inside you: skill, luck… everything that goes through a player's mind in a single second.

“After a long run, I won a rebound in midfield and a sprint against [Marco] Materazzi. I saw Julio Cesar off his line and instinctively I did the hardest thing: lobbing the goalkeeper from outside the box.

“Fortunately it went where I wanted.”

Totti then recalled an anecdote relayed to him from the former Inter stopper.

“Julio Cesar wrote to me on Instagram, and told me that with his son, he watched the goal on social media and the child was amazed.

“Let’s say it's one of the best two or three goals of my career.”

Totti was then asked for his opinion on Youri Djorkaeff’s bicycle kick goal for Inter against the Giallorossi in January 1997.

“If I’m not mistaken, the club then used that image on their season ticket cards the following season," laughed Er Pupone.

"For Youri it’s surely his most beautiful goal. Besides being a great player, he's a great man.”
