Francesco Totti confirms Paulo Dybala coming to Roma ‘was possible,’ but ‘never believed’ in Cristiano Ronaldo in the Giallorossi jersey, even though it’s reported CR7 has asked to leave Manchester United.

The 2006 World Cup winner had become directly involved in the talks to bring free agent Dybala to the Stadio Olimpico, hoping to combat the competition from Inter, Milan and Premier League sides.

“Dybala was possible, very possible,” Totti told Sky Sport Italia.

“However, other things happened then and the idea vanished. He will go elsewhere, I honestly don’t know where, but I had hoped he could come to Roma. There was a definite possibility, there was a chat, but I don’t know what they said.”

Meanwhile, over the last few days there have been reports that Cristiano Ronaldo could join Jose Mourinho at Roma, returning to Serie A just a year after leaving Juventus.

That was fuelled today by Times Sport claiming that Cristiano Ronaldo has demanded to be allowed to leave Manchester United this summer if they receive a satisfactory offer.

“To be honest, I never believed in Ronaldo to Roma, because I know the reality of the current situation,” added Totti.
