Growing reports in Italy suggest that Roma legend Francesco Totti and his wife Ilary Blasi could split up after 17 years of marriage.
The couple got married in Rome in June 2005, but have been together for more than 20 years. However, according to multiple reports in Italy, their love story has come to an end.
Dagospia reported the news yesterday and rumours have been confirmed by Italian papers this morning.
According to Dagospia, Totti has found out that Ilary, an Italian showgirl, model and television personality, has an affair with one of her colleagues, so he has begun dating another girl.
Totti is described as ’emotively involved’ in his new relationship and the couple has not denied reports that have been circulating in Italy for more than 24 hours now.
Totti and Ilary didn’t celebrate the ex-striker’s birthday together this past September and arguments between the couple are ‘more and more frequent.’
Ilary once stepped into the dispute between the ex-Roma captain and Luciano Spalletti, saying that the Tuscan tactician was ‘a little men.’
Some of Totti’s most iconic celebrations were dedicated to his wife. In March 2002, he celebrated a goal in the derby by unveiling a message in a shirt that read: ‘Sei unica’ (you are unique). He imitated a childbirth scene three years later after another goal against the Biancocelesti.
