Italy international Guglielmo Vicario is back in the starting line-up for Tottenham for the first time in almost three months after recovering from the injury he heroically played through during a 4-0 win over Manchester City in November.
The former Empoli ‘keeper has missed 21 matches across all competitions, including 12 in the Premier League over the busy winter period, which led Spurs to the signing of 21-year-old Antonin Kinsky during the January transfer window.
Vicario required surgery to fix a fracture in his ankle, which he picked up during Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Manchester City on November 23.
The stopper revealed after full-time that he played on for an hour before learning that he had a broken bone in his foot.

Vicario returns for Tottenham after three months
Now recovered and cleared to play, he is straight back in the starting line-up for Tottenham’s Premier League match at home against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
His teammate and compatriot Density Udogie has also missed 11 matches with a hamstring injury. He has also returned to the matchday squad for the Manchester United clash on Sunday, but starts among the substitutes.
