Tottenham Hotspur are determined to sign Franck Kessié in the January transfer window, but according to multiple sources in Italy, Milan have rejected a swap deal involving Tanguy Ndombele.

Kessié is unwilling to sign a contract extension with the Rossoneri, meaning he will leave the club as a free agent at the end of the season.

The Diavoli have been in talks with his agent George Atangana for a long time, but the Ivorian midfielder’s representative has requested a new €8-9m-a-year deal, while the Rossoneri offered a €6.5m-a-year contract.

Kessié is on a €2.2m-a-year deal at San Siro.

According to SportMediaset and Il Corriere della Sera, Tottenham are keen to sign the former Atalanta star in January and have offered Ndombele in a potential swap deal.

However, Milan have rejected the proposal and want to continue with Kessié until the end of the season even if they know they may not get a penny from his departure in July.

10 thought on “Tottenham want Kessié in January, but Milan reject swap deal”
  1. Franck Kessie: “In Africa, there are people who walk 20 miles every morning just for a piece of bread.”
Also Franck Kessie: “Tripling my wages isn’t enough!”

  2. If they’ve rejected a straight swap, then I think they must be dumb (or they think Kessie is close to signing, which doesn’t appear to be the case). Milan seem determined to keep making the same mistakes. Kessie is certainly not worth what he is demanding. I think it’s dubious as to whether he’s worth what they’ve already offered him. Good player, but not a great player.

  3. 1. This just stinks of concocted media drivel
    2. Tonguy is not a direct replacement for Kessie. From what I’ve seen of him during his tumultuous stint with spurs, he is more of a Bennacer than a Kessie type player
    3. IF this is true, Milan clearly feel that losing Kessie now could seriously impact the team’s chances of finishing in the top 4. That is worth more than whatever money they can get for him now or an inconsistent player in return.

  4. No player is bigger than the club and so Kessie can go wherever he wants. Milan should not accept any threats or blackmail by anyone,

While I stand foursquare behind Maldini, I cannot understand why it takes so long for Milan to decide on his replacement.

This approach is also shown by the Botman saga …. it has been going on and on and on and on .
……… and still no decision has been taken …. … until one fine moment another club will suddenly appear and lay its hands on Botman in a couple of days ….

  5. We should remember the salary of Tonguy…if he doesn’t take a huge wage-cut, then the swap deal is worthless…better sell Kessie for Cash

  6. Tonguy wants more than Kessie, most likely, in which case a swop deal dosen’t make sense. But we can sell him afterwards some might say, can we? for sure? For how much? What would the cost be of loosing Kessie now, and potentially drop out of top 4? Loosing the Scudetto?

Finally, what a dumb cunt Kessie is. He is a star at ACM, called the President, fights for Scudetto and plays in CL. At Tottenham he MIGHT play CL and fights for the small cup. But money I know.
