Tottenham and Manchester United are reportedly interested in Marcelo Brozovic, who wants €6m-a-year to extend his expiring contract with Inter.

Brozovic sees his contract expire at the end of the season and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper, he has demanded a pay rise to extend his stay at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The 28-year-old is on a €4.2m-a-year deal and reportedly wants a new €6m-a-year salary to pen to paper on a new agreement with the Serie A champions.

Last summer, PSG and Inter negotiated over a possible swap deal involving the Croatia international and Leandro Paredes but were unable to reach an agreement.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Ligue 1 giants are still monitoring Brozovic and the same is true of Milan midfielder Franck Kessié, another midfielder star with an expiring contract at San Siro.

However, Manchester United and Tottenham are also interested in Brozovic.

The Spurs’ director Fabio Paratici tried to sign the midfielder during his time at Juventus and remains an admirer of the 28-year-old.

Inter need to lower their wage bill, so it’s not guaranteed they will meet the player’s salary demands.

Brozovic is one of the Serie A stars with an expiring contract in June 2022, along with the likes of Paulo Dybala, Kessié, Lorenzo Insigne, Andrea Belotti and Alessio Romagnoli.

  1. A swap deal with Paredes? This is Micky Mouse. The new contract will be worth around €5M and the rubbish stories can evaporate.
