Tottenham Hotspur director Fabio Paratici is in Italy, holding talks with Roma and Sampdoria involving Nicolò Zaniolo, Joe Rodon and Bryan Gil.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Paratici flew into Milan today and held several meetings in the city’s hotels, the central hub of the Italian transfer market.

Spurs already spent big in Italy over the January transfer window with the arrival of Antonio Conte, and are set to shop in Serie A once again this summer.

Sky transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims they discussed amongst other targets the situation of Zaniolo, who has also been linked with Milan and Juventus.

His asking price is circa €50m and it’s widely reported Roma are ready to listen to offers before negotiating a potential contract extension.

The sticking point might be that Zaniolo is eager to remain in Italy, but Conte and Paratici’s presence could help smooth that over slightly.

Sportitalia report this evening that Roma also spoke to Juventus and Milan about Zaniolo, and are now open to accepting a player exchange along with just cash, for instance Weston McKennie or Arthur Melo.

Meanwhile, Roma also asked after Tottenham defender Joe Rodon, the 24-year-old Wales international centre-back who was purchased from Swansea City in 2020 for €12m and is of interest to Jose Mourinho.

Sky Sport Italia also suggest Paratici held a meeting with Sampdoria representatives for a potential loan deal giving Bryan Gil playing time in Serie A.

Spurs spent €25m to sign the attacking winger from Sevilla in 2021, but sent him to Valencia on loan in January.

4 thought on “Tottenham visit Italy to talk Zaniolo, Rodon and Bryan Gil”
  1. Zaniolo would do well to stay away from England. Heavy wet pitches do not bode well for two ACL repaired knees.

Has so much to still learn also. Stay in Serie A and develop i to the great player your potential lends us to believe you will become.

  2. Robbie, very good point. Also full blooded tackling, its definitely a risk to be considered. Although I like Zaniolo and his high energy game, sometimes at Spurs the players drift through games.

  3. conte plays 3-5-2 with tottenham now – why he got perisic – zaniola wont fit into this system

he knows he wants to come to juventus – this will secure his italy place
