Napoli have joined Juventus in the race for Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, but Tottenham won’t sell the midfielder on loan unless the Serie A clubs include an obligation to buy in the deal.

Both Napoli and Juventus are looking for midfielder reinforcement and according to Sky Sport Italia, both have set their sights on Spurs midfielder Højbjerg for the January transfer window.

The Denmark international reportedly wants more playing time and while Napoli are looking for a short-term replacement for André Zambo Anguissa who will play in the AFCON in January, Juventus must replace the suspended Paul Pogba and Nicolò Fagioli.

Sky Sport claims Juventus and Napoli are open to discussing a loan deal with an option to buy, but Tottenham won’t sell the 28-year-old unless any of the two clubs include an obligation to buy in the deal.

Højbjerg has made 17 appearances across all competitions this season and his contract in North London expires in June 2025.

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis said on Friday that he would sign one or two central midfielders next month.
