Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport Italia claim there has been initial contact between the clubs, but they are still at the early stages of negotiations.

The asking price is €60m for the 25-year-old Slovakia international, and the Nerazzurri only want cash, not a potential swap with Tanguy Ndombele.

This is because they would then invest some of that money in bringing in a replacement, most likely Nikola Milenkovic of Fiorentina.

Milan are also pursuing Milenkovic, but have baulked at the €25m price-tag.
