Tottenham are reportedly continuing to work on a deal for Nicolo Zaniolo but their proposed offer has failed to convince Roma.

Spurs coach Antonio Conte is a big fan of the 23-year-old Italian forward and he’s incredibly keen to bring the Giallorossi talent to North London this month. Zaniolo had an interesting campaign last season under Jose Mourinho, experiencing a number of ups and downs as he went on to score two goals in 28 Serie A games.

As reported by La Repubblica, Tottenham have proposed a €55m total offer for Zaniolo, which is split between a fixed cash sum and the inclusion of either Japhet Tanganga or Tanguy Ndombélé.

Roma are unconvinced by this and Mourinho does not want to lose the talented 23-year-old, even if things didn’t go perfectly last year. Zaniolo himself has rediscovered his fire in the Italian capital and doesn’t want to leave the club anymore, so it’ll take a strong offer from Spurs if they want to push for a deal.

  1. He will be the next Mo Salah, moving to England than becoming the next star.

Roma should try and hold him. Especially seeing he is Italian and good for marketing.

Of course, it all depends on Zaniolo himself and people close to him to read, if as the club he can be trusted to stay long term.

Else best course of action is to sell and get from that money a hardworking midfielder. I feel we lacking in that department someone to hold the balance. Still hoping for Frattesi that change would be I think best business and improving the squad at the moment.

  2. @Rik
