Reports continue to suggest Tottenham Hotspur are closing on a deal for Juventus pair Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski, which means they are dropping Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Aston Villa have now seemingly abandoned the approach for Uruguay international Bentancur after their initial €20m plus bonuses offer was rejected.

Spurs are instead attempting a double swoop with director Fabio Paratici negotiating with his former club Juventus.

According to Sportitalia and Gazzetta dello Sport transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, Juve want at least €30m for Bentancur and €35m for Kulusevski.

If they are both sold, then the Bianconeri will go for Denis Zakaria, who is down to the final five months of his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach.

Calciomercato.it claim there has been significant process in the talks between Tottenham and Juventus over Bentancur.

The price-tag has to be high because the Turin giants still owe Boca Juniors 30 per cent of the sell-on fee.

It had been 50 per cent when he first made the transfer in 2017, set to drop with every year he remained on Juve’s books.

With that in mind, Calciomercato.it suggest Juventus are more than happy to accept a loan with obligation to buy format, as it’ll let them keep more of the transfer fee.

That could even be an 18-month loan with obligation to buy in June 2023.

As for Kulusevski, again Juventus are open to a loan with option to buy, but would prefer some guarantees that the sale will eventually be finalised.

What this all means is that Tottenham have put Amrabat on the back-burner, as the deal had been done to take him on loan from Fiorentina with option to buy, but Bentancur is now the preferred target instead.

5 thought on “Tottenham progress with Juventus for Bentancur and Kulusevski”
  1. Would be nice to get almost as much for them as buying Vlahovic. Replacing them with Zakaria and probably Dembele is an upgrade too.

  2. Any news anyone on Ramsey Rabiot Arthur Sandro
    Really these are big problems
And Vlac will b flop as no attacking flair from Allegri or midfield

  3. This is looking very suspicious. Paratici goes off to EPL and now he’s buying Juve’s garbage at above market rates? There should be an investigation. This is the kind of crap Juve usually pull off.
