According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus remain interested in Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg for the summer but their priority target is Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners.

The Bianconeri are preparing for the 2024-25 campaign and are expected to get midfield reinforcement in the summer, regardless of the potential permanent signing of Carlos Alcaraz from Southampton.

Wednesday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, on page 12, claims the Bianconeri’s priority is Atalanta star Koopmeiners, who has also been linked with a move to Liverpool.

Koopmeiners is a long-time target of Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli who already tried to bring the Dutchman to Napoli in the past. According to the report, Atalanta rejected a €48m bid from the Partenopei last summer, so Juventus are aware his signature won’t come cheap.

If the Old Lady fail to land Koopmeiners, they’ll try to get his teammate Ederson, who was targeted by Newcastle and Tottenham in the January transfer window.

Gazzetta also mentions Bologna‘s Lewis Ferguson and Tottenham’s Højbjerg as potential reinforcements for the Bianconeri next season. The latter sees his contract in North London expire in June 2025.

It is understood that the Juventus strategy will also depend on the future of Adrien Rabiot, who has not yet agreed to sign a contract extension beyond the summer and potential offers for American midfielder Weston McKennie.
