More reports are emerging from Italy that West Ham United are no longer in talks for Nikola Milenkovic, but Tottenham Hotspur are edging closer to the Fiorentina defender.

The centre-back is on the market at circa €18m because his contract is running down and due to expire in June 2022.

The Hammers had been in negotiations for many weeks, but could not agree terms with the Viola or the Serbia international.

Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia are now confident Tottenham are the favourites for Milenkovic, hoping to create a new partnership with ex-Atalanta defender Cristian Romero, who made his debut today in a 1-0 Premier League victory over Manchester City.

Negotiations are progressing well and Milenkovic seems content with the idea of joining Spurs this summer.

West Ham seem to have pulled out of the talks entirely, aware that they would be better off targeting another option.

Milenkovic turns 24 in October and has 28 senior caps for Serbia, in which he scored one goal.

He amassed 121 Serie A appearances, finding the net on 11 occasions.

  1. Let milenkovic leave. Is not always talent the club needed. Its also hearts combine with it. Who always love for the shirt and the club.. so we dont need him to stay.cause his hearts not belong at fiorentina
